What Flavor Is Alani Winter Wonderland?
A holiday name that has carried two different flavors so far.
What flavor is Alani Winter Wonderland?
It depends on the year. The 2025 Alani Nu Winter Wonderland tastes of tart cranberry over a sweet, jammy plum, which Alani described as "frosted sugar plums and cranberry pearls." The 2024 can under the same name was coconut with a little berry.

Winter Wonderland is Alani Nu's holiday energy drink, sold for a limited time around the end of the year. Retail listings give it 200 mg of caffeine in a 12 fl oz can, no sugar, and sucralose with acesulfame potassium (ace-K) as the sweeteners.
The thing to know is that the name is a season, not a flavor. Alani Nu has used it for two different drinks so far.
Which year's can do you have?
| Year | What Alani Nu said | What it tastes like |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | No official flavor name; a leaked graphic called it "Coco Berry Bliss" | Coconut first, with a light berry note behind |
| 2025 | "Frosted sugar plums and cranberry pearls", with a new formula and can | Tart cranberry up front, rounded by sweet plum candy |
| 2026 | Nothing announced at the time of writing | Listed as returning on a leaked calendar; flavor unconfirmed |
The 2024 version got a lukewarm reception. The coconut was far stronger than the berry, and one tester called it "sunscreen flavored".1 It reached shelves in the first week of November.
The 2025 relaunch brought a new can and a new formula. Sporked, which reviewed both, rated it much higher and called it cranberry-forward and bright.2
For 2026, a calendar leaked by a retail employee lists Winter Wonderland among previously limited flavors coming back.3 It gives no date and no flavor. Whether 2026 keeps cranberry and plum or changes again is not known yet.
Why the 2025 can tastes like that
A sugar plum is a confection, not a kind of plum. The name points at a sugared, candied sweet. In flavor terms it reads as jammy plum with extra sweetness, and "frosted" pushes the same way: softer, rounder, slightly creamy.
Cranberry does the opposite job. It is sharply tart, slightly bitter, and a little astringent — your mouth going dry, the way it does with strong tea.
Put together, the plum brings sweetness and depth and the cranberry brings the bite. That bite is why the 2025 can tastes bright and strong. Alani Nu has not published how the flavor is built, so this describes the taste, not the formula.
What it means if you are building a seasonal flavor
Cranberry suits an energy drink. Energy drinks run at high acid anyway, and people expect cranberry to be sour. The acid you need for stability lands as fruit character instead of harshness.
Watch the bitterness stack. Cranberry's own bitterness sits on top of the caffeine's. At 200 mg of caffeine a cranberry-forward drink can tip from bracing to harsh. A bitterness blocker matched to caffeine, plus a rounder partner like plum or vanilla, keeps it on the right side.
Test it like a permanent product. A limited label does not mean a short life. Leftover stock keeps selling after the holidays, so the flavor needs the same shelf-life testing as anything in the core range.
Reusing a name has a cost. A returning name brings recognition, but some buyers will expect last year's flavor. If you change it, say so on the can.
